Phase 01 — Context

Overview

RadioNavan is a Persian-language podcast platform serving the Iranian diaspora worldwide. This concept tackle the outdated UI, poor discoverability, and the frusting playback experience of the similar persian podcast apps — into a modern, culturally resonant product.

Problem Statement

“The Persian diaspora’s largest podcast platform is held back by bugs, aggressive ads, and a UX that hasn’t kept pace with its 8,000+ creators.”

Feature Benchmarking

Gaps & Opportunities

Key Opportunities

No Persian app combines AI summaries + modern UX — RadioNavan's core differentiator

Most competitors have weak or no onboarding — chance to create a memorable first impression

Persian casual listeners are an underserved market ignored by Pocket Casts & Overcast

A fully free experience without paywalls is a meaningful edge in the Persian market

Risks & Challenges

Spotify is expanding into Persian content with large budgets — positioning must happen quickly

Shenoto has a larger content archive — competing on volume won't work; UX must win

AI summary quality directly impacts retention — this feature must be excellent from day one

Cross-device sync is now a baseline expectation; shipping without it risks early churn

1

Among all competitors analyzed, no single app offers the combination of Persian-native content + AI episode summaries + minimal modern UX. This empty space is RadioNavan’s unique market position — and the core hypothesis behind every design decision in this project.

Design Philosophy & Positioning

RadioNavan is for Persian speakers
who want to listen smarter,
not just more.

01

Intelligent listening

AI summaries let users decide what's worth their time before pressing play. Read first, then listen.

02

Personalized from day one

Onboarding captures preferences so every recommendation improves from first launch.

03

Persian, truly

Not just the content — the UX, RTL layout, typography and design language are built for Persian speakers.

04

Calm & focused

Minimal UI removes noise. Every session should leave the user knowing something new.
